According to the February unemployment report, the unemployment rate for Black is over 14%, and sky rockets when you examine sub groups such as black men and teens. This is a bi-product of the current recession, although historically African- Americans have held an unemployment rate above 10% according to Think Progress. I think it may be time for Black people to take a nice firm look at free market economics, and support candidates that are free market people. The majorities of Elected Democrats are firm believers in Keynesian economics, and have much disregard for the free market. It is a consensus among African- American people that there needs to be a growth in Black owned business. This is an idea that is at odds with the way most Black people vote, and the candidates they support. Free Market Capitalism is the best path to prosperity, and to help display this I have provided a video below that provides and compares the two school of economic thought.

With many states adopting new voter Id laws for the many upcoming elections, many are crying foul. Below you will find various clips on the subject.
What do you think? Are the New laws racist?
A close colleague today asked me for my opinion on the entire Anthony Weiner Situation, and I thought it would be fair to share it with everyone. Unless you have been living under a rock or stuck in the middle of nowhere with zero access to any media I am pretty sure you are fully aware of the situation that Congressmen Anthony Weiner has gotten himself into. I will not go into the details of the situation of his sexting, as you can google it and get every detail, but I will give my opinion of whether he should leave his post or not, and my answer is yes.
I do not believe he should leave his post as a matter of partisan shilling or finger pointing, but of a matter of demanding a level of decency and integrity among our elected officials. I will not lie and call him a hypocrite as he has never been a standard bearer of Morality, but I will say there is a problem when you drag an entire country for a week long on a train ride of lies that just never stopped building upon one another. That bothers me!!! As a matter of principle if you are and elected official you should carry a certain level of decency in how you carry your private life. I am not here to judge anyone, but when you have lost the public’s trust it is very hard to get it back (just ask Chris Brown). I do find it quite interesting that President Bill Clinton officiated Anthony Weiner’s Wedding, I guess he learned from the best! (FYI Bill Clinton is one of my favorite president’s and leaders of all times who will be studied for centuries to come.) For all of you unaware of whom Congressmen Wiener (D-New York) is or why he is important I have provided a clip below of his floor debate during the health care bill debate.
With all the noise about the current Republican field of Presidential candidates many in the media cannot help, but to continuously bring up the name of Sarah Palin. The right loves her, and left hates her, but the media cannot ignore the rating that come with her. The problem is not solely the media’s, but also a product of Sarah herself. Although Sarah Palin may be touring the country currently, and gaining much of the media’s attention, I will lay out 3 reasons why she will not be seeking the presidential nomination.
1. She is unelectable
While many love her, just as many hate her. She is the Hillary Clinton of the Republican Party. She is so polarizing that anything that she does will be looked at by the a microscope and with such a narrow point of view that she will be contained to defending rather than going on the offense. Her public image has been damaged by the left, and to the point of no return. No election can be won without the middle of the road swing voters, and it would be virtually impossible for her to capture them, being that the image of her has been paint in such narrow terms.
2. She loves her celebrity, Sarah Pac, and current lifestyle
One of the beauties of being a political figure that is not holding a political office is that they have their freedom. They are not looking to please anyone, but able to be themselves. They are not bound by the unwritten rules of politics, but are able to write them. Sarah Palin is a product of this. Since her leaving the governorship in Alaska she has been able to murder book sales records, secure a political commentary slot on Fox News, star in her own reality show, launch her own Political action committee, and most importantly become a greater tool for the Republican Party than anyone else. She is a Godmother of the Tea Party, and one of the biggest fundraisers known to the political world. No one in their right mind would leave this kind of lifestyle for the scrutiny that comes with a presidential campaign. More importantly with all the attention Sarah Palin will be able to raise millions upon millions to use in the 2012 election to 1. Nominate the candidate she sees fit, and 2. Defeat Obama.
3. Roger Ailes did not force her to make a decision
The key factor is that Roger Ailes the managing director of Fox News did not force her to let him know as he did with Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum. This is the biggest indicator, as her position with Fox News has given her just as much exposure as her Twitter and Facebook accounts.
In the end we will see that she ultimately will not run for president, but will have a major role in the race.
It was reported today that corporations have an excess of 1.7 trillion dollars worth of cash and short term investments on their balance sheets. They are holding cash because they are uncertain about the future economic climate, and the uncertainty of the tax code since it was only extended for 2 years, and most business usually plans 5 years out. It s very possible that the United States economy may be able to recover in a 6 to 8 month time frame if both Wall street and Main street were both reassured that they would be provided with a climate that is productive to job growth. Also to spur job growth I would propose that businesses be able to deduct the first year salary of the new employees they hire within the next 18 months. This would spur job growth from New York to Honolulu because business will be able to get a 2 for 1 deal being able to get a nice tax deduction while increasing their productivity. If these corporations were to spend 700bill of the cash they have to create jobs with a salary of 50k or more they could create an excess of 10million jobs and still have a strong safety net for if the economy were to take another downturn. What is the point of a recovery if the people who are suppose to be able to benefit from the recovery still can’t find employment after the recovery? What are your ideas to help the economy recover from the current recession?
